PSB Academy Launches S$2.1 Million Beyond60 Program Offering Full Scholarships for 30 Selected Recipients in Collaboration with raiSE, United Women Singapore, and Care Corner Singapore

Through the PSB Academy Beyond60 Scholarships initiative, PSBA and its university partners will offer full scholarships to as many as 30 deserving candidates identified by the Singapore Centre for Social Enterprise, raiSE Ltd (raiSE), United Women Singapore (UWS), and Care Corner Singapore. These scholarships will cover the duration of their educational programs, which can vary from six months to four years, depending on the selected course.

The scholarships aimed at raiSE social enterprises seek to strategically enhance the skills of leaders in this sector, generating a ripple effect that intensifies and broadens their positive impact on the communities they support. The collaboration with UWS will empower young women from local polytechnics to pursue higher education in STEM and related fields. In a similar manner, the partnership with Care Corner will aid youths preparing for their N and O Levels, as well as at-risk youths, in reaching their academic aspirations.

Scholarships will be distributed in multiple phases, allowing recipients to commence their courses as early as the second half of this year, with some starting as late as December 2026.

With an increased public awareness of social enterprises in Singapore (from 13% in 2010 to 72% by 2020), raiSE aims to promote widespread adoption of these impactful business models. These scholarships strategically equip both emerging and established leaders with the skills, strategic insight, and valuable networks for meaningful development and sustainable growth within Singapore’s social enterprise sector.

In 2023, approximately 17,000 youths aged 15 to 24 in Singapore were not engaged in school, work, or training.

PSBA will hold a celebration later this year to officially recognize and award scholarships to the selected recipients.

All certifications and Diplomas offered by PSBA, along with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Academy’s university partners, are accredited by institutions in the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. This includes Coventry University, University of Hertfordshire, Edinburgh Napier University, La Trobe University, the University of Newcastle Australia, Edith Cowan University, and Massey University.

Building on a legacy of six decades of excellence, PSBA celebrated its Diamond Jubilee Anniversary last year by aiding over 2,000 adult learners in Singapore with more than S$3.5 million in Diamond Jubilee Education Grants for upskilling and reskilling.

In the coming months, PSBA will organize a series of public engagement events aimed at fostering a more inclusive and accessible learning environment. These activities will invite public participation in hands-on experiences across various disciplines offered at the Academy. By promoting greater community involvement, the Academy hopes to exemplify the core values of accessibility and inclusivity that characterize it as Asia’s Future Academy. In April 2025, PSBA opened its third urban campus in Singapore at The Cathay and signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work on industry-relevant programming with Coventry University and COSEM, a cooperative of the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), to train more paramedics to address the increasing emergency call volumes and workforce shortages.
