Solana Co-Founder Revealed Through Hacked Instagram Account of Rap Group Migos

Raj Gokal, the co-founder of Solana, had his personal information exposed through a series of Instagram posts on the U.S. hip-hop group Migos’ page after an apparent hacking incident.

On May 27, hackers gained access to Migos’ Instagram account, revealing Gokal’s sensitive details and doxing both him and his wife. The removed posts included images showing the Solana (SOL) Labs President with his unredacted driver’s license and passport.

One of the posts also featured a woman, allegedly Gokal’s wife, holding her driver’s license.

The seven images reached Migos’ 13 million followers. One post shared Gokal’s personal contact information, including his phone number, and encouraged viewers to “spam” the Solana co-founder, effectively doxing him.

A caption accompanying the image of Gokal with his driver’s license implied that he had been blackmailed before the public exposure of his information. Tagging Gokal’s Instagram, the hacker wrote: “you should’ve paid the 40 BTC.” At current values, this 40 Bitcoin (BTC) is equivalent to around $4.3 million.

Hackers Target Solana Co-founder Raj Gokal

Just a week prior, Gokal had warned his followers on X about attempts to hack his email and various social media accounts, advising them to remain cautious about suspicious posts.

“Attackers have been trying to take control of my email, social media, Google, Apple, etc. this past week. If you see anything suspect (token launch, soliciting funds, etc.), it means they got through,” Gokal mentioned in his post.

Currently, neither the official Solana account nor Raj Gokal’s X account has responded to the recent incident related to the Migos Instagram page. However, the inappropriate posts have been removed from Migos’ official account as of 5:12 AM UTC.

In recent months, several cryptocurrency accounts have faced hacking incidents, often used to promote fraudulent cryptocurrencies or spread misinformation in the web3 sector. Noteworthy recent hacks include those affecting the meme coin launchpad Pump.fun and the crypto media outlet Watcher Guru, among others.
