Trump Set to Keep White House Starlink as Musk Dispute Eases

President Donald Trump reiterated his desire to mend his public disagreement with Elon Musk, informing reporters of his plan to retain the Starlink internet service at the White House while wishing his billionaire supporter “well.”

However, the US president suggested that he might move the Tesla vehicle he acquired from White House grounds, indicating that it was Musk’s responsibility to reach out after a rocky week filled with jabs and ultimatums concerning the president’s significant tax legislation.

“If I were in his shoes, I would want to have a conversation with me,” Trump remarked. “But perhaps he has already made an attempt; you should check with him. I wouldn’t mind — although I don’t want to imply too much, I would assume he’d be keen on discussing things.”

Trump noted that he had not observed any physical confrontation between Musk and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, expressing hope that Musk was not engaging in recreational drug use during his time working for the government, following a New York Times report that alleged the former head of the Department of Government Efficiency had been using ketamine.

“Honestly, I can’t say — I doubt it,” Trump remarked. “I hope that’s not the case.”

The president’s relatively calm comments came after Musk removed several social media posts over the weekend, which included assertions that Trump was mentioned in unreleased documents related to the disgraced New York financier Jeffrey Epstein. During the spat, Tesla’s stock took a significant hit, and Trump threatened to reconsider government contracts with Musk’s companies.

“Look, I wish him well,” Trump stated on Monday. “We had a good relationship, after all.”
