Fuel Price Hikes Start at Midnight
Pretoria – The Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources has announced an update to fuel prices, set to take effect on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, considering both local and global factors.
The revised fuel prices for July 2025 will be as follows:
- Petrol 93 (ULP & LRP): An increase of fifty-five cents per litre (55.00 c/l).
- Petrol 95 (ULP & LRP): An increase of fifty-two cents per litre (52.00 c/l).
- Diesel (0.05% sulphur): An increase of eighty-two cents per litre (82.00 c/l).
- Diesel (0.005% sulphur): An increase of eighty-four cents per litre (84.00 c/l).
- Illuminating Paraffin (wholesale): An increase of sixty-seven cents per litre (67.00 c/l).
- SMNRP for IP: An increase of eighty-nine cents per litre (89.00 c/l). Maximum Retail Price of LPGas: A decrease of fifty-seven cents per kilogram (57.00 c/kg) nationwide, with an exception in the Western Cape where it will rise by one hundred ninety cents per kilogram (190.00 c/kg);

International factors include South Africa’s dependence on imports of both crude oil and refined products, with prices set globally and influenced by import costs like shipping.
