Djokovic has voiced his dissatisfaction with Wimbledon’s notorious 11pm curfew, and at times it appeared he would need to return to complete the first round early Wednesday morning.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion dominated the initial set against the world No. 41, who has gained attention for sharing audacious content on OnlyFans.
In an attempt to conclude the play before the roof closed, the seven-time champion decisively secured the first set 6-1.
However, Muller, who styles himself as France‘s most charming tennis player, retaliated effectively.
In an astonishing second-set tiebreak, Muller saved two set points while Djokovic faced difficulties.
Feeling dispirited, the Serb soon requested a medical timeout, while his opponent also sought medical assistance.
Once the roof was closed and with the curfew looming, Djokovic elevated his performance, taking the third set 6-2 and breaking Muller early in the fourth.
“It’s fantastic to wrap up tonight before the curfew,” he commented.
