An emotional Coco Gauff found herself facing disappointment after a challenging exit from Wimbledon on Tuesday.

After her triumph at Roland Garros, Gauff encountered an unexpected loss in the first round.

The 21-year-old, seeded No. 2, was ousted by unseeded Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska.

In her post-match press conference, Gauff, tears still in her eyes, admitted she felt mentally “overwhelmed.”

“I think I was a bit mentally overwhelmed by everything that happened afterward, so I didn’t have enough time to celebrate and then reset,” she shared.

“This is my first time transitioning from a victory to competing at Wimbledon, and I’ve definitely taken away lessons on what to do and what to avoid in the future.”
