However, it was evident that Catterall’s injury was far worse. Despite the cutman’s efforts, the fight was halted amid mixed reactions from the crowd, delegating the decision to the judges.

The judges recorded scores of 69-65, 69-66, and 69-66 in favor of the home fighter.

Before the fight, Eubank had an awkward encounter with his family rival Conor Benn, who recently faced Eubank’s cousin Chris.

Both teams assigned personnel to observe the hand wrapping of the competitors, and in a playful twist, Benn represented Catterall.

This tactic mirrored one he previously used when he sent Billy Joe Saunders to check on Chris Eubank Jr.’s hand wraps ahead of their April bout.

Saunders faced challenges from Eubank’s determined team.

But at the Manchester Arena, Benn was permitted entry to Harlem’s dressing room shortly before the fight commenced.

The opening round bristled with tension as both fighters engaged in calculated exchanges, with Catterall delivering the more impactful punches.

Eubank, at 31, displayed quickness and agility, while Catterall exuded experience and composure with his unorthodox southpaw stance.

The counter-punching Catterall seized control in the second round as Eubank appeared to be adjusting to the tempo.

A chaotic moment unfolded at the start of the third round, resulting in Catterall tumbling and inadvertently pulling Eubank down with him.

The remainder of the round lacked excitement until a lively interlude energized the audience with a performance of ‘Sweet Caroline.’

Eubank decisively claimed the fourth round with a notable right hand followed by a short left hook, though both boxers exhibited hesitance as the audience began feeling fatigued by 11:15 PM.

As the sixth round began, both fighters tumbled into the ropes, creating a humorous scene.

Harlem Eubank believed he had performed well enough to win.

Eubank aggressively took the initiative with jabs that caught Catterall’s attention and proved more effective.

Following another round of grappling, both fighters suffered severe cuts, particularly Catterall’s, which appeared more serious.

Catterall’s cutman, Kerry Kayes, worked diligently during the prolonged break and ultimately received clearance from the doctor for Catterall to continue.

Concerns persisted regarding whether the match would proceed if the bleeding resumed.

After consulting a ringside official, the fight was ultimately stopped, with commentators noting that Eubank’s team expressed concerns.

A moment of confusion ensued after the referee’s decision, leaving many to question whether a winner would be declared.

As the match surpassed four rounds, scorecards were revealed, confirming Catterall’s unanimous points victory—marking his return to winning form after two consecutive defeats.

Catterall remarked, “Respect to Harlem, but I was starting to wear him down. It’s disappointing not to push harder. It was an accidental clash, and I need to move forward.”

“The referee made the call; that was out of my hands. He was evasive, but I felt I was landing the more effective punches.”

“I’m back on the winning track after two losses, and now I can aim for significant fights.”

Eubank expressed disappointment, stating, “He came in with his head, and I was ready for the seventh round.”

“However, I wasn’t able to clinch the victory. A rematch would be great, but we’ll see what happens.”

While Eubank showed interest in a rematch, Catterall and his team are intent on pursuing world title opportunities.

Meanwhile, Carl Frampton commented on Catterall’s injury, stating, “That will definitely require plastic surgery. It looks very deep.”

“There’s no way that can simply be stitched up. It will need more than ten or twelve stitches.”

Tony Bellew added: “He will surely require a specialist for that.”
