More Players Depart from the Arrows
Golden Arrows is undergoing a significant shift as coach Manqoba Mngqithi continues to part ways with players ahead of the new season.
Recently, the club bid farewell to Olwethu Ncube, Ntsikelelo Nxadi, John Mwengani, and ex-Orlando Pirates striker Menzi Masuku. These latest departures follow earlier exits including Ryan Moon, Puleng Tlolane, Sifiso Mlungwana, and Kagiso Malinga, which were reported by this outlet a few weeks back.
Interestingly, Nkosi Gumede, who was among the released players, has been welcomed back into the squad. This decision comes in light of a potential long-term injury affecting goalkeeper Ismail Watenga.
Gumede, the most tenured player in the Golden Arrows senior roster, has been with the club since 2011 and has accumulated 132 appearances. His time with Arrows traces back to when current assistant coach Musa Bilankulu was still an active player. Despite his long tenure, Gumede has not been able to secure a clean sheet during his goalkeeping career at Arrows.
New Signings for Golden Arrows
As previously noted, Golden Arrows is taking steps to bolster their lineup. They have successfully acquired Jerome Karelse from Mamelodi Sundowns and Malawian international Yankho Singo from Nyasa Big Bullets. Moreover, the club has signed Thokozani Khumalo from Mkhambathi FC in the ABC Motsepe League and is currently evaluating Sanele Radebe from Royal AM.
