Broadcasting Network Career Indaba Unveils New Strategic Advisory Board
Johannesburg – The media and broadcasting network, Career Indaba, has revealed the establishment of its 20-member Strategic Advisory Board.
This network is dedicated to facilitating essential discussions that uncover actionable solutions to challenges related to employment, skills development, and labor market dynamics across various sectors. The board appointments are set to officially commence in July 2025.
The newly formed Advisory Board was inaugurated during its first onboarding session on 11 July 2025, co-facilitated by the Institute of Directors South Africa (IoDSA).
The Board will serve a crucial role in steering Career Indaba’s strategic vision, fostering thought leadership, enhancing governance frameworks and stakeholder engagement, shaping policy, innovating labor market solutions, broadening partnerships, and backing Career Indaba’s flagship initiatives.
These initiatives encompass the Career Indaba Expo & Bootcamp scheduled for 12 & 13 September 2025, alongside Career Indaba Radio, and a variety of digital media platforms over the upcoming five years, set to continue until June 2030.
With a wealth of expertise covering business, education, labor, policy, technology, and youth development, the Strategic Advisory Board aims to strengthen Career Indaba’s role as a cross-sector and multistakeholder convenor in promoting employment, skills development, and labor market solutions across the continent.
Introducing the Advisory Board & Four Established Committees
To ensure focused oversight and effective execution, the Advisory Board has established four strategic committees chaired by Mr. Robin Baloyi and Vice Chairperson Ms. Khadija Dangor:
1. Labour, Employment & Skills Committee: Focuses on policy, labor market insights, skills development, and future work trends.
Members include: Professor Njabulo Mkhize, Ms. Jacqui Ford, Mr. Matthew Parks, Mr. Benjamin Xie & Mr. Robin Baloyi.
2. Strategy, Finance & Audit Committee: Manages financial strategy, fundraising efforts, governance compliance, and risk management.
Members include: Ms. Selelo Ramohlola, Mr. Kabi Kolobe, Mr. Basiami Disipi & Ms. Khadija Dangor.
3. Youth, Entrepreneurship, Innovation & M&E Committee: Supports youth-led initiatives, embraces digital transformation, and evaluates program impact and outcomes.
Members include: Ms. Soraya Seedat, Ms. Boitumelo Malapile, Ms. Mmakgosi Chaane-Pule & Ms. Ntombifuthu Macheke.
4. Strategic Partnerships, Programmes & Funding Committee: Facilitates multi-sector partnerships, mobilizes resources, and aligns programs with national and continental priorities.
Members include: Ms. Hellen Dinawane, Ms. Litha Tyali, Mr. Isaac Dhludhlu, Mr. Selebelo Selamolela, Ms. Elizabeth Masoleng & Mr. Phumlani Mfenyana.
