Man Utd Considering Shocking Return of David de Gea Following Goalkeeper’s Cryptic Message to Fans
MANCHESTER UNITED is quietly contemplating a sensational return for former goalkeeper and club icon David de Gea.
Sources indicate that the 34-year-old Spaniard has a provision in his Fiorentina contract that permits him to leave for a minimal fee.

In light of a stellar display during a recent friendly at Old Trafford, follow-up inquiries are underway after De Gea hinted that their “paths may intersect again.”
As Manchester United prepares for their match against Arsenal, manager Ruben Amorim has cast doubt on whether Andre Onana will be the starting goalkeeper this season.
Amorim remarked: “Every player needs to assert their place. I won’t disclose who holds the No. 1 position.”
De Gea made 545 appearances for United from 2011 to 2023, placing him seventh in the club’s all-time list.
His departure followed a decline in performance and a contract disagreement, subsequently prompting former manager Erik ten Hag to acquire Onana from Inter Milan for £43.8 million.
After a year of being without a club, De Gea has re-energized his career and enthusiasm at Fiorentina.
United would prefer that either Onana, who is 29, or Turkish backup Altay Bayindir make way to alleviate wage pressures.
Nonetheless, they might be able to accommodate De Gea if his transfer is budget-friendly.

During a pre-season friendly that concluded 1-1 between United and Fiorentina, De Gea was gifted a framed picture from former teammate Bruno Fernandes.
De Gea later posted on Instagram: “Returning to Old Trafford—my home—was a magical moment for me and my family.
“I am grateful for the warm reception and all the love you showed me.
“To the supporters who have stood by me during my tenure at this club: our paths may cross again.”
Onana is expected to start against Arsenal on Sunday, despite having missed pre-season due to a hamstring injury.
United is linked with several goalkeepers this summer, fueling speculation about Onana’s possible replacement.
Notable names include Emi Martinez from Aston Villa, Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain, and John Victor from Botafogo.

Regardless, Amorim expressed confidence in the former Inter player during challenging moments last season, with no new goalkeeper acquired this summer.
The coach made a statement: “He’s prepared for the match. Just wait and see; you’ll learn more on Sunday.”
“As a coach, I am convinced we can enhance our performance from last year. I have full faith in that.”
Onana returned to training earlier this week after sustaining an injury in July.
Bayindir, 27, was anticipated to be sold this summer but instead contributed to their unbeaten pre-season run.
Senne Lammens from Antwerp, 23, had previously been on United’s radar but is now in discussions with Inter.
