Leon clinched the UFC welterweight title against Kamaru Usman with an exhilarating finish on August 20, 2022.

With only seconds remaining, a left high kick sent Usman to the canvas, cementing Leon’s championship reign in one of the most extraordinary comebacks in UFC history.
Fast forward three years, and his younger brother Fabian faced American Dalton Rosta in the Professional Fighters League middleweight final.
In a striking moment of déjà vu during the third round, Edwards unleashed the same left kick to the head.
After a joyful embrace with his brother Leon in the cage, Edwards was declared the 2025 PFL champion.
He also took home a $500,000 cash prize after succeeding in the three-stage tournament, having previously overcome Impa Kasanganay and Josh Silveira.
With his former UFC champion brother by his side, Edwards, 32, exclaimed: “That is team head shot dead. It’s unbelievable. God has a unique way of orchestrating things.”
“I’m truly thankful. Last October, I lost a championship match to Johnny (Eblen), and now, in less than a year, I’m the PFL champion. It feels surreal.”
Rosta, 29, held the advantage in the first two rounds with several effective takedowns.

However, the American began to show signs of fatigue as he entered the third round, opening the door for Edwards to execute his signature kick.
He stated: “I told my brother that he has a tendency to paw, so I decided to go for that shot.”

“I practice that shot regularly in training, and it worked out perfectly.”
Edwards’ mother, Denise, operates a Caribbean restaurant named Sweet’s Kitchen in Birmingham city center, where the family settled after moving from Jamaica.
The newly-crowned champion intends to celebrate with a lavish feast upon his return home.
