Tragic N3 Collision: Minibus Taxi and Haulage Truck Accident Leaves Four Dead

Durban – A devastating accident involving a minibus taxi and a haulage truck on the N3, near the Bergville Interchange, has led to four fatalities.

KwaZulu-Natal Transport and Human Settlements MEC Siboniso Duma confirmed that this tragic event occurred on the morning of Saturday, 23 August 2025.

“This horrific collision between a truck and a minibus taxi near the Bergville Interchange has taken four lives,” remarked MEC Duma.

“Motorists traveling towards Gauteng are advised to proceed with caution, as emergency services, including the South African Police Service and RTI, are currently on the scene.”

“We extend our deepest sympathies to the families affected by this heartbreaking incident.”

“I have assigned a team from the department to assist in contacting the families of the victims whose lives have been forever altered by this tragedy.”
