Mpumalanga Mercedes-Benz Shooting: Families Recognize Three Victims Identified

Mkhuhlu – The three individuals fatally shot in a Mercedes-Benz have been identified as 36-year-old Wilfred Nhlanhla Dludlu, 35-year-old Sello Amos Mogashoa, and 25-year-old Phemelo Arthur Ndaba.

The victims were targeted in Mkhuhlu, near Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga, on Friday, 22 August 2025.

Gunmen opened fire on their vehicle while they traveled along a road next to a hospital.

According to Mpumalanga police spokesperson Brigadier Donald Mdhluli, two victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while the third died from gunshot wounds at the hospital.

The spokesperson confirmed that the deceased have been identified by family members.

The Mercedes-Benz, bearing Gauteng registration plates, sustained extensive bullet damage.

Brigadier Mdhluli stated that a manhunt for the suspects has been launched.

“The police are investigating three counts of murder following the incident in which three male victims were shot inside a charcoal Mercedes-Benz with Gauteng registration plates,” he remarked.

He also mentioned that the specific motive for the shooting remains unclear.
