Dolly Collaborates with City to Boost Promotional Efforts
Cape Town City has announced the acquisition of former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Keagan Dolly.
The 32-year-old became a free agent after departing TS Galaxy following the conclusion of the last season.
Dolly’s stint at TS Galaxy was short-lived, spanning just one season after his release from Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the 2023/24 season.
During his time without a club, he was part of the Bafana Bafana CHAN squad under coach Molefi Ntseki, who unfortunately did not progress beyond the group stage in East Africa. Upon returning to South Africa, Dolly embarked on a search for a new club, culminating in his recent signing with Cape Town City. A Reunion with a Familiar Face
This transfer reunites Dolly with City head coach John Comitis, who played a role in managing Cape Town Spurs when Dolly first showcased his abilities before making the move to Mamelodi Sundowns in the 2015/16 season.

During his time at Sundowns, Dolly enjoyed notable success, securing the league title, Carling Knockout, and the CAF Champions League before his transfer to Montpellier in January 2017.
After returning to South Africa, he signed with Kaizer Chiefs for the 2021/22 season. However, his three-year period at Chiefs was marred by injuries, limiting him to 67 appearances across all competitions, during which he scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists.
Cape Town City, having faced relegation to the Motsepe Foundation Championship last season after the PSL promotion/relegation playoffs, is actively working on rebuilding its squad to compete for a return to the top division. The signing of an experienced player like Dolly is a crucial part of this plan.
