Renowned Political Journalist Tshidi Madia Passes Away at 42

Johannesburg – Celebrated South African political journalist Tshidi Madia has tragically passed away after a brief illness, as confirmed by her family.

In a brief statement shared on social media, her family announced that she died in a hospital on the morning of Wednesday, 27 August 2025.

She was only 42 years old.

Tshidi’s employer, Primedia Broadcasting, expressed deep sorrow in their announcement regarding her death, stating, “We are saddened to inform our audiences about the loss of Tshidi Madia, EWN’s Associate Editor: Politics.”

EWN Editor-in-Chief, Nisa Allie, stated: “Tshidi was the shining star of EWN. She was a true powerhouse.
