The Primary Objective of Orbit College
Pogiso Makhoye, the head coach of Orbit College, is committed to securing the club’s position as a newcomer in the Betway Premiership.
The club, which recently ascended from the Motsepe Championship, is still acclimatizing to the demands of the top tier.
So far, they have achieved one win but faced three defeats, including a narrow 1-0 setback against Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday.
Currently, the North West-based squad is positioned 14th in the standings with a total of three points.
Makhoye has underscored his desire for the team to establish a strong identity in the league, focusing more on stability than on ambitions for a top-eight finish or winning the league title.

“Our primary goal is to secure our position,” Makhoye stated firmly.
“We can’t claim to aim for the league title or even a top-eight finish.
“Our main objective is to ensure this team remains in the Betway Premier League.”
Makhoye also highlighted the decision not to sign numerous experienced players, insisting that the individuals who helped the club rise deserve their shot.
“For the past 15 years, we’ve cultivated talent. Even if relegation happens, we didn’t buy our way into the league. We comprehend how we got here,” Makhoye remarked.
“It’s essential to allow these young players to shine. If we concentrate on signing seasoned pros, how will players like [Ikaneng] Ramosala, [Siyabulela] Mabele, and [Kobamelo] Setlhodi gain the necessary experience?”
“These budding talents earned the promotion, and they deserve to play at this level. I won’t rush to judge them, especially after just four matches.
“Last season in the MFC, we started with five points after five games but eventually got promoted. There’s no need for panic.
“Our philosophy will always prioritize player development. We’re not seeking experienced players in the transfer market. It’s not a financial constraint; it’s about giving these lads the exposure they need. They’ve been with Orbit for 15 years without monetary rewards.
“Now is their time to flourish, and if relegation happens, we’ll accept it because they are the ones who earned this team’s promotion.”
Orbit is scheduled to host TS Galaxy at Olympia Park Stadium on Saturday.
