Before Silva’s crucial goal, the match seemed destined for a goalless draw. Coach Nasreddine Nabi chose to bring in Silva, Gaston Sirino, and Mfundo Vilakazi just before the hour mark, substituting Mduduzi Shabalala, Ashley du Preez, and Pule Mmodi, who had struggled to convert their chances.
