Following the win over Aston Villa, Glasner made it clear that he wanted Guehi to remain at the club.
Within the club, there were concerns that he may resign if the defender were to be sold.
After the FA Cup victory in May and the win over Liverpool in the Community Shield, it became the perfect opportunity for Glasner to assert his leadership.
Although Palace tried to finalize a fee for Guehi, he now risks leaving on a free transfer next year.
From January, he will be eligible to sign a pre-contract with foreign clubs, drawing interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Liverpool had reached a £35 million agreement with the Eagles for the England international, who even underwent a medical in London.
The Premier League champions submitted a deal sheet to extend the timeline for finalizing the transfer, but the agreement unraveled within the hour.
Palace sought alternatives, particularly focusing on Brighton’s Igor Julio, whose transfer was advancing before West Ham intervened to secure the Brazilian.

The two clubs had discussions earlier in August, yet they remained far apart on the fee.
Guehi spoke with the media after scoring against Aston Villa in a 3-0 win on Sunday.
Marc Guehi discusses the significance of growing up in South London and leading Crystal Palace, while contemplating his future
When asked about handling rumors regarding his future, he remarked: “I can’t say I enjoy the attention too much.
“There are constant cameras focused on me, and everyone discusses my situation. I’m lucky to have a strong club and amazing teammates around me.
“Concentrating on what really matters—football—makes everything easier. I appreciate my family’s support, the staff, and everyone at Palace; they have been tremendously helpful.”
This concludes a successful summer for Glasner, but significant worries persist regarding his relationship with chairman Parish.
Parish has praised the dedicated Austrian for revitalizing the club, yet Glasner’s frustrations have been evident throughout the summer.
After a sluggish transfer period last year led to a difficult season start, there were promises of improvement this time.

However, it has taken the Eagles until the last week to chase key signings, particularly following Eberechi Eze’s transfer to Arsenal.
Glasner criticized their “passive” strategy over the summer and declared that he would not partake in discussions for a new contract unless the transfer window met his expectations.
Palace did manage to secure a deadline day signing for young defender Jaydee Canvot, while Odsonne Edouard made a permanent move to Lens.
They also submitted a deal sheet to acquire Manor Solomon on loan from Tottenham.
Bilal El Khannouss, a target for Palace this summer, joined Stuttgart on loan from Leicester City.
