Kutumela Set for Move to AmaZulu
Sportswire reports that striker Thabiso Kutumela is nearing a move to AmaZulu.
Kutumela has remained a free agent since he left Richards Bay, a club adjacent to AmaZulu, at the conclusion of the last season. He showcased his talent by scoring at the recent CHAN tournament held in East Africa.
During the four games played by the Bafana Bafana team under coach Molefi Ntseki, Kutumela netted three goals. Despite his contributions, the team failed to advance past the group stage after conceding two late goals to Uganda, resulting in a dramatic 3-3 draw.
The 32-year-old forward displayed impressive form throughout the tournament, proving that he can still compete effectively despite being without a club.
If his transfer to AmaZulu is completed, it will mark his third club in KwaZulu-Natal. He previously played for Maritzburg United (now known as Durban City) before joining Mamelodi Sundowns at the start of the 2021/22 season.

As per reports from Sportswire, Sundowns paid a considerable transfer fee to secure his services, which was a record for Maritzburg at that time.
During his stint at Sundowns, Kutumela won two league titles, the Nedbank Cup, and the MTN8. However, due to increased competition for playing time, he was loaned to Cape Town City for the 2023/24 season.
After his loan concluded, Sundowns confirmed his departure, leading him to sign with Richards Bay. At the Natal Rich Boys, he managed to score only one goal in 11 appearances across all competitions.
