Fadiel Adams Claims Police Attempted Kidnapping After Raid on His Former Home

Fadiel Adams, leader of the National Coloured Congress, claims that police made an attempt to abduct him during a raid at his former residence in Mitchells Plain early Saturday morning.

According to Adams, officers believed to be part of a task force investigating political murders arrived at the location searching for him.

He asserted that the officers were masked, did not identify themselves, and parked their vehicles at a considerable distance from the house, which he had sold roughly two months ago.

Adams reported that he was alerted about the raid by the new homeowner around 6 AM.

He accompanied her to the Lentegeur Police Station, where she lodged complaints of assault and intimidation.

It was not until Sunday morning that Adams discovered a search warrant had been issued against him.

Accusations Linked to Parliamentary Inquiries

Adams suspects he may have been singled out due to inquiries he raised during a recent parliamentary committee meeting regarding police issues.

“I had several questions concerning the suspension of the national commissioner following criminal charges. I merely wanted to understand why General Khumalo is still allowed to act as the head of CI while maintaining his position,” he stated.

He also expressed discontent regarding how the raid was conducted.

“At one minute past 8:00 this morning, Mkhwanazi sent an email attempting to retract it. You can see it; it’s in your pack. He tries to withdraw the email,” he clarified.

@That’s when I noticed in his own handwriting that a warrant had been issued for me. I had previously advised him that if there is a warrant, to avoid dramatic methods. Don’t storm my house with firearms. Do not traumatize or endanger my children.

The authorities have yet to issue an official response to Adams’ claims.

The specifics of the warrant and any possible next steps remain unclear.
