Phong Le: Strategy Extends Beyond Bitcoin Holdings

CEO Phong Le highlighted that the company’s successes are attributed to more than just its Bitcoin holdings.

Summary

  • Strategy reported an 11.9% rise in Q1 revenue, totaling $124.3 million.
  • Phong Le pointed out an impressive 59% increase in cloud revenue during the company’s strongest quarter for software in years.
  • Concerns persist regarding Strategy’s Bitcoin strategy as debt and losses continue to mount.

In a post on X, he emphasized that the enterprise software division is vital to the company’s long-term vision.

Le highlighted that this software division supplies Strategy with engineers, cloud teams, enterprise clients, compliance systems, and global operations that many digital asset firms lack. The key statement, “Strategy’s success relies on more than Bitcoin,” is based on the expansion of the software business, even as Bitcoin draws the majority of investor attention.

Q1 Software Growth Bolsters Bitcoin Expenses

Strategy revealed total revenue for Q1 2026 of $124.3 million, marking an 11.9% increase from $111.1 million year-over-year. The company’s gross profit was $83.4 million, yielding a 67.1% gross margin.

Le noted that Q1 was the strongest software quarter in the last decade, driven by a 12% rise in revenue and a 59% boost in cloud revenue. He also mentioned that the controllable margin improved by 27%, supporting the financing of Bitcoin operating costs.

This update comes amid rising concerns regarding Strategy’s Bitcoin strategy, as the firm reported a Q1 net loss of $12.54 billion, a notable rise compared to a $4.22 billion loss during the same period last year.

According to Crypto.news, Strategy raised $25.3 billion in 2025 to bolster its Bitcoin treasury strategy, alongside Phong Le’s commitment to enhancing STRC for Bitcoin per share growth.

Strategy Adopts AI and Enterprise Data

Le revealed that Strategy has created an AI data foundation called Mosaic, which integrates large language models, hyperscalers, and data warehouses into a secure enterprise data layer.

He also mentioned that the company is overhauling its internal systems with AI, expecting further automation of workflows.

For Strategy, the message is unmistakable: the software segment is not just a legacy operation, but a fundamental part of its case for sustaining an institutional-grade Bitcoin treasury model.
