Mosa Allen Dhlamini Sentenced to 15 Years for Repeated Offenses Involving Stolen Luxury Vehicles

Polokwane – A 35-year-old individual, who had previously been released on bail twice for his involvement with stolen vehicles, has now been detained for a third time and is facing a significant prison term for his actions.

On Monday, 22 June 2026, the Polokwane Regional Court sentenced the convicted Mosa Allen Dhlamini to 15 years in prison for three offenses of possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

He acknowledged his guilt regarding these charges.

As stated by police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the conviction and resulting sentence were the outcomes of intelligence-led operations executed by the Provincial Vehicle Crime Unit along with various law enforcement agencies, conducted between August 2024 and February 2025.

Dhlamini’s initial arrest took place on 2 August 2024 in Makhado when he was found with a stolen Toyota Land Cruiser valued at approximately R4 million.

“The vehicle was recovered as part of a coordinated mission involving the Provincial Tracking Team, Provincial Investigation Unit, Tracker Connect, Tshimollo Security, Limpopo Tactical Security, and ShadowSecure Security,” the police spokesperson noted.

“Despite being granted bail, the accused was apprehended again on 26 September 2024 near Polokwane while operating a stolen Toyota Fortuner valued at approximately R900 000 during another intelligence-led operation. He was again released on bail.”

On 2 February 2025, the suspect was detained for a third time at the Beitbridge Port of Entry with a stolen Toyota Prado worth about R1 million in his possession.

“Following this arrest, bail was successfully challenged, and the suspect remained in custody until the case was finalized,” Colonel Ledwaba stated.

“After pleading guilty to the charges, the Polokwane Regional Court sentenced the defendant to 15 years of direct imprisonment on 22 June 2026.”

The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, commended the investigator, prosecutor, and all law enforcement agencies involved for securing the arrest and conviction of this repeat offender.

The successful prosecution was led by Advocate George Sekhukhune, with the investigation carried out by Sergeant Kgabo Mokaba from the Provincial Vehicle Crime Unit.
