Michael Carrick Suggests Marcus Rashford Will Remain at Man Utd After Draw with Leeds
MICHAEL CARRICK has suggested that Manchester United may retain Marcus Rashford.
Rashford, 28, watched as United played Leeds in a pre-season match at Croke Park on Wednesday.
He is anticipated to play in the match against AC Milan this weekend.
At times, a return to Old Trafford for Rashford seemed doubtful after he was on loan at Barcelona last season and at Aston Villa for the preceding half-season.
Nevertheless, he has been reintegrated into the first-team setup by Carrick after Barcelona decided not to make his loan permanent.
After witnessing his team secure a penalty shootout victory against Leeds following a 1-1 draw in Dublin, the United manager hinted that Rashford might stay for the coming season.

Carrick stated: “He’s our player. He’s returned in fantastic shape. He fits seamlessly with the rest of the squad.
“I’ve known Marcus for quite some time, and his impact is essential for the team.
“He’s been in great spirits since rejoining. He’s trained for two or three days now, and it feels quite normal, to be honest.
“We’re excited about the season ahead.”

Rashford has netted 138 goals in 426 appearances for United, but hasn’t played in a competitive match since December 2024.
It remains uncertain if he will have the opportunity to increase that tally.
United player Noussair Mazraoui was also asked about Rashford’s future.
He remarked: “He could be a valuable asset this season. That is, of course, assuming he doesn’t leave.”
