Has the ground staff at Hull been informed?

Fans of FOOTBALL were left scratching their heads after noticing something unusual at the MKM Stadium ahead of the Premier League match between Hull City and Manchester United.

The newly-promoted Hull hosted United for the first Saturday match of the season at 12:30pm.

Supporters were surprised to see the floodlights on

Yet, fans were astonished to find the floodlights turned on—even with the match happening in broad daylight in August.

One spectator commented: “Did someone inform the Hull grounds crew about the 12:30 kick-off against #MUFC? Why are the floodlights on?”

Another supporter joked: “While much of the UK basks in a heatwave, Hull appears to be hosting a winter match with the floodlights blazing at noon.”

“Welcome back to the Premier League,” they added.

Meanwhile, a third chimed in: “Floodlights on at 12:30pm in summer? Hull is truly a place of fiction…”

Hull struck first when Semi Ajayi scored in the 17th minute, converting a shot that Senne Lammens initially saved, leaving him just in front of the goal.

Nobel Mendy then increased the lead with a header from a free kick taken by Regan Slater.

The home crowd in the MKM Stadium erupted with chants aimed at the United supporters: “You’re getting mauled by the Tigers.”
