Liam Delap on the verge of an unexpected Premier League transfer as Chelsea’s issues begin to settle.

LIAM DELAP is reportedly close to wrapping up his unfulfilling stint at Chelsea.

After transferring from Ipswich for £30m, the striker has had a tough time, scoring just one Premier League goal last season.

According to talkSPORT, Delap is likely to make a move to Nottingham Forest.

Oliver Glasner has just been appointed as Forest’s manager, now one of the highest-paid coaches in the Premier League.

After facing multiple disagreements with the Crystal Palace management over their underwhelming transfer activities, the Austrian coach is anticipated to get strong backing from enthusiastic Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis.

The East Midlanders had a disappointing start to the season, losing 1-0 at home to Leeds, with neither Igor Jesus nor experienced striker Chris Wood able to score.

As Taiwo Awoniyi is set to complete a £9m transfer to newly-promoted Coventry, Forest has reportedly set its sights on Delap to strengthen their offensive
