Bahrain Premier League Team Alkhaldiya Sports Club secures signing of Orlando Pirates Star Patrick Maswanganyi

Johannesburg – The Orlando Pirates Football Club has confirmed that they have finalized an agreement with Alkhaldiya Sports Club from the Bahrain Premier League for the transfer of Patrick Maswanganyi.

The 28-year-old midfielder leaves the Buccaneers having built a solid rapport with fans throughout his tenure at the club.

Maswanganyi has been a crucial element in the technical team’s strategy for the upcoming season.

Nevertheless, after discussions with the player and his agents, he indicated a strong wish to seek a new venture overseas.

Acknowledging his contributions to the club and his aspirations for the next stage of his career, Orlando Pirates chose not to hinder his ambitions.

A transfer deal was successfully completed with Alkhaldiya Sports Club.

Bahrain is an archipelago consisting of about 33 islands, with Bahrain Island being the largest. It is located to the east of Saudi Arabia.

Football is the most favored sport in Bahrain, and reports from the nation, which has a population of approximately 1.5 million, indicate that first-team professional players in the Premier League during the 2025–26/2026 season were likely to earn between US $50,000 and $150,000 annually.
