SPAR Proteas Squad Revealed for Africa Netball Cup
Pretoria – Netball South Africa has confirmed the SPAR Proteas team for the upcoming 2026 Africa Netball Cup.
This tournament is scheduled to take place in Nairobi, Kenya from the 19th to the 26th of September 2026.
As the reigning champions, South Africa clinched the title in both the men’s and women’s divisions last year.
After the team’s recent involvement in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, SPAR Proteas Head Coach Jenny van Dyk has implemented some alterations to the squad for the tournament, opting to rest several senior players.
“The Africa Cup presents our SPAR Proteas head coach with a chance to rotate her roster and enhance the team’s depth and capability,” stated Mami Diale, President of Netball South Africa.
“We have signed seventeen players and have ten additional training partners.
“If there was ever a perfect moment for the coach to evaluate the talent of other players, it is now.
“We have complete faith in the coach and the team selected. We trust they will deliver commendable performances and make us proud.
“Entering this tournament as defending champions, we aim to successfully retain our title.”
“As a federation, we have provided the team with all essential support and are optimistic about their chances.”
The players selected for the 2026 Africa Netball Cup are:

- Kamogelo Maseko
- Owethu Ngubane
- Kyla Dames
- Karla Victor
- Refiloe Nketsa
- Sanmarie Visser
- Thulisile Maduna
- Nozipho Ntshangase
- Juanita van Tonder
- Tinita van Dyk
Three players have been named as non-travelling reserves: Sanelisiwe Ntobela, Phophi Nematangari, and Luca Keun.
Kamogelo Maseko will serve as the captain during the tournament. The squad is set to gather in Johannesburg on the 14th of September before departing for Nairobi on the 16th of September 2026.
“Participating in the Africa Cup is always a challenging yet thrilling endeavor,” commented Jenny van Dyk, SPAR Proteas Head Coach.
“This year’s tournament is particularly significant as it allows us to rotate our squad, evaluate some players, and experiment with new combinations, all aimed at strengthening our team’s depth as we prepare for the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney.
“Having just returned from Glasgow, we’ve gathered sufficient insights from the players present; now we have a chance to assess new talents and see how we can develop them.
“We head to Kenya as the defending champions, and our aim is to maintain that title.
“We believe we have the optimal players for this challenge, and we are confident in our performance there. Building depth is our focus, and it is incredibly important to us.”
