Maswanganyi Commemorates Khoza Following Completion of Alkhaldiya SC Transfer Deal
Outgoing Orlando Pirates midfielder Patrick “Tito” Maswanganyi has expressed his sincere gratitude to the club, describing the chance to wear the iconic black and white jersey as a profound honor, while also recognizing the notable impact of chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza on his growth.
On Monday, Orlando Pirates officially revealed that the attacking midfielder has joined Bahrain Premier League side Alkhaldiya Sports Club for an undisclosed fee.
In light of the announcement, Maswanganyi paid tribute to Dr. Khoza’s outstanding leadership.
“Wearing the black and white colors has been a remarkable honor for me,” Maswanganyi remarked. “Chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza has been instrumental in my development and career during my time at Orlando Pirates.”
The 28-year-old midfielder bids farewell to the Buccaneers after a highly successful spell in Soweto, during which he made 120 appearances in all competitions, netting 28 goals and assisting 21 times, affirming his position as one of the nation’s most electrifying playmakers.
Since joining from SuperSport United in June 2023, Maswanganyi has been a key player during one of the club’s most prosperous phases, clinching six major titles.
Among his personal accolades at Pirates is the prestigious PSL Players’ Player of the Season award for the 2023/24 campaign, alongside making significant contributions to the club’s historic domestic treble.
