Enzo Fernandez not included in Chelsea squad for Luton match before transfer deadline, uncertain future ahead
ENZO FERNANDEZ will NOT feature in Chelsea’s lineup for their Carabao Cup clash against Luton.
Xabi Alonso confirmed in his press conference on Wednesday that the Argentine midfielder was fit for selection.

As rumors about his future grow, he will not be involved in the Stamford Bridge match.
His absence comes as Manchester City prepares to make a preliminary offer for the midfielder.
Chelsea had initially set a bid deadline of August 14 for £120 million; however, no formal offers were received by that date.
Despite this, City’s interest has not waned, with new Etihad manager Enzo Maresca eager to bring Fernandes into the fold.

If he departs, Chelsea will actively search for a replacement.
The Blues are eyeing Bournemouth’s Alex Scott, despite an earlier £64 million offer being rejected.
The Cherries insist that Scott is NOT for sale, but Chelsea is ready to test their resolve.
City’s pursuit of Fernandez is part of a larger overhaul of their midfield.

Rodri transferred to Barcelona this summer for £65.4 million, while Tijjani Reijnders left after only one season for Saudi side Al-Qadsiah.
City has also secured £100 million signing Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille and £116 million England international Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest.
However, Maresca has recognized that Rodri’s absence still needs to be addressed, while Fernandez has made his desire to leave Chelsea quite clear.
He has been training with Alonso’s squad and made a substitute appearance in Monday’s win over Fulham, receiving a warm reception from travelling supporters.
