Dumisanya Makhaya Drive Car Crash in KwaDabeka Leaves Passenger Dead and Three Others Injured

Durban – A passenger lost their life in a single-vehicle accident on Dumisanya Makhaya Drive near KwaDabeka.

According to ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson, three additional individuals were injured in the morning incident that occurred on Monday, 31 August 2026.

“Shortly after 06:30 am today, ALS Paramedics were dispatched to a severe single-vehicle accident on Dumisanya Makhaya Drive near KwaDabeka,” reported Jamieson.

“Upon arrival, paramedics encountered a scene filled with chaos and devastation, discovering that a single vehicle had lost control and rolled multiple times, eventually coming to a stop on its wheels in the center of the road.”

Jamieson stated that paramedics assessed the situation and found that the single vehicle had four passengers, all of whom had suffered various degrees of injuries.

“One passenger, a male thought to be in his 20s, had sustained critical injuries, and despite their efforts, paramedics were unable to save him; he was pronounced dead at the scene,” said the ALS Paramedics spokesperson.

“The other three occupants had various injuries, and after being stabilized at the scene, they were transported to different hospitals in Durban for the necessary medical care.”

“Currently, the circumstances leading up to the crash remain unclear; however, officers from the South African Police Service were present and will conduct a further investigation.”
