Capitec Plans to be Listed on A2X Markets

Johannesburg – Capitec Limited, formerly known as Capitec Bank Holdings Limited, has been granted approval for a secondary listing on A2X Markets. Starting Monday, 7 September 2026, Capitec ordinary shares will be available for trading on A2X.

With a market capitalization of R540 billion, the bank announced on Tuesday, 1 September 2026, that this secondary listing on A2X is anticipated to expand investor access to its ordinary shares by offering an additional regulated trading platform.

Capitec indicated that this initiative will enhance shareholder options and bolster liquidity in the Company’s ordinary shares.

According to Capitec, it will maintain its primary listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, and its issued share capital will remain unchanged.

Grant Hardy, the Chief Financial Officer of Capitec, commented on the listing, stating: “Our secondary listing on A2X reinforces our commitment to generating value for shareholders by offering access to an additional trading venue and improved liquidity.”

Kevin Brady, Chief Executive Officer of A2X, remarked:  “We are excited to welcome Capitec to A2X. Capitec has positioned itself as one of South Africa’s prominent banking groups, and its listing further enhances the diversity and depth of the A2X market.”

Capitec joins several South African banking groups that have secondary listings on A2X.

A2X is regulated by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority and the Prudential Authority of the South African Reserve Bank according to the Financial Markets Act.
