Eddie Hearn Drops Mysterious Instagram Update Amidst New Doubts Surrounding Joshua vs. Fury Showdown
EDDIE HEARN was notably active on social media yesterday as the boxing promoter stands firm amid the ongoing Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury situation.
The Matchroom executive posted a series of images and videos on his Instagram, hinting at the ongoing turbulence surrounding the eagerly awaited all-British matchup.
One of his stories featured a mug with the phrase “I got 99 problems but closing a deal isn’t one,” a playful reference to Jay-Z’s classic, 99 Problems.
Throughout the evolving drama, Hearn has claimed he signed a contract that prohibits Dana White, the UFC head and spokesperson for Turki Al-Sheikh’s Zuffa Boxing, from promoting the fight.
However, it’s understood that White was among several interested parties in hosting the fight in the US, a significant point of contention for Hearn and Joshua, who insist this long-awaited matchup should take place in the UK.
The Joshua vs Fury bout is set for December 11 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, yet White’s exact role in the event remains uncertain.

During the Zuffa broadcast of Johnny Fisher’s victory on Saturday night, commentator Max Kellerman pointed out that White will be involved in “assisting Turki Al-Sheikh in a personal capacity – not as a promoter.”
Hearn also shared a video of himself jogging in pleasant weather with the caption “bet against me.”
In another post, he featured a clip from a boxing podcast questioning why he shouldn’t uphold the initial contract he signed.
He captioned this post with next: “My thoughts daily” alongside a crying laughing emoji.

Hearn has claimed that there have been as many as SIX breaches of contract already.
Joshua’s contract explicitly states that neither White nor the TKO Group can be involved in promoting the fight. However, it’s uncertain what stipulations are included in Fury’s contract, as he seems unbothered by White’s participation.
The UFC president played a crucial role in facilitating the fight at Al-Sheikh’s request, ensuring both fighters earn an impressive £75 MILLION each, with plans for it to be featured on Netflix and almost took place at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Notably, he was prominently mentioned in the official press release, which made NO MENTION of Hearn or Matchroom.

Fury seems to hold Hearn accountable for the ongoing conflicts.
He stated: “Breaking news. Anthony Joshua and Eddie Hearn are trying to pull out of this fight. They’re claiming they won’t fight now. They’re just little s******** cowards.
“It primarily revolves around Eddie Hearn’s ego. He’s making a million excuses and threatening ‘we’re not gonna fight, we’re not gonna fight, we’re not gonna fight’. He’s jeopardized the biggest fight in boxing history. Absolute clown.”
As things stand, the fight is still scheduled, with a press conference anticipated to occur next week.
