GOOD Party has revoked Sarah Mabotsa’s membership and councillor position
Pretoria – The GOOD Party has made the decision to terminate Sarah Mabotsa’s membership, marking the end of her role as City of Tshwane MMC for Economic Development.
In a joint announcement on Monday, 28 September 2026, RISE Mzansi and the GOOD Party stated that they have notified the Executive Mayor and City Manager of Tshwane regarding the termination of Sarah Mabotsa’s party membership. Consequently, she is to be removed from her position as a Councillor and her role as MMC for Economic Development.
“The termination is a result of violations of the party’s Constitution,” the statement noted, without elaborating further.
“Holding a public representative position is a privilege that entails responsibilities and accountability to the electorate.”
“This is a fundamental principle that must be adhered to, regardless of one’s position or the proximity to an election.”
Given the GOOD Party’s partnership agreement with RISE Mzansi, Mabotsa will also be withdrawn as the RISE Mayoral Candidate for Tshwane.
“The parties are united in their dedication to appointing ethical and trustworthy leaders,” the statement added.
“The Tshwane City Manager confirmed this morning that his office would notify the IEC of the council vacancy today.”
