The Premier League alleges that Manchester City concealed £900 million through misleading transactions over nine years.
The club was deemed guilty of 114 of the initial 115 charges, with the total number now reaching 130.
The Independent Football Regulator (IFR) might require Sheikh Mansour, the UAE’s vice president, to sell the club.
Burnham emphasized his unease regarding the potential loss of ownership, underscoring the substantial contributions made in Manchester.
He delivered his remarks to the BBC, stating, “They have been an essential partner in the evolution of modern Manchester. Obviously, they have transformed Manchester City into the renowned entity it is today. I cannot further involve myself in this matter, as that would be inappropriate.”
He added, “It would be imprudent to jump to conclusions without thoroughly assessing all the facts. Given that the matter is still being challenged by Manchester City, I believe it is best for me to withhold further comments.”
