Emerging Star Receives Cristiano Ronaldo’s Iconic Portugal No. 7 Jersey After Intense Meeting with National Officials

CRISTIANO RONALDO has officially been replaced as Portugal’s No. 7, a day after his sudden exit from their training camp.

The football icon shared his departure from the Selecao camp via Instagram on Wednesday, following his exclusion during the match against Norway.

At 41 years old, Ronaldo hinted that he would discuss the situation in due time, though sources suggest he feels misled about his role, having considered retirement following the World Cup.

This marks the first occasion in 18 years that Ronaldo was included in a matchday squad for Portugal yet didn’t take the field, and his outburst may expose him to a possible six-month suspension.

Manager Jorge Jesus, who has a good relationship with the former Manchester United star from their time at Al-Nassr, revealed that he originally told Ronaldo he would feature against Norway before ultimately changing his mind.

Roughly 15 hours after his dramatic social media notification, Portugal’s new No. 7 was revealed.

Uefa has released the official squad lists for tonight’s European Champions’ Nations League match against Denmark.

Galatasaray player Rafael Leao has been assigned the No. 7 jersey, as indicated on the Uefa website.

The 27-year-old winger had previously worn No. 17 during the match against Norway.

While various players have worn the No. 7 jersey in Ronaldo’s absence over the years, this moment is particularly meaningful, considering the possibility that the six-time Ballon d’Or winner may not play for his country again.

Ronaldo has become synonymous with the No. 7 shirt, which he first wore at Manchester United during his rise to becoming the best player in the world.

The CR7 brand has established him as one of the most recognized and wealthiest athletes globally, highlighted by his impressive 679 million Instagram followers.

His sister, Elma Aveiro, stated that he deserves to be treated with “more respect” and described that “Portugal deserves to return to mediocrity” in an explosive social media comment.

This is not the first time Ronaldo has left a team due to dissatisfaction with a limited role.

He had previously taken similar actions when he was benched by Erik ten Hag during his second stint at Manchester United.

Ronaldo eventually left the club, gave a controversial interview to Piers Morgan, and subsequently signed with Al-Nassr, where he reportedly earns £488,000 each day as his base salary.
